The course engages the learners in understanding the distinctions between and among the four types of Grammar: Functional, Descriptive, Prescriptive and Pedagogic. Aside from the emphasis on how teaching and assessment vary considering the four types, the course, also provides the opportunities to discover the role of Grammar in Communicative Competence. 
This course is designed to develop technical and scientific writing skills across disciplines. It deals with audience selection, precise and appropriate language, and preconceived format. In addition, the course aims to help students in the preparation of clearly and systematically written scientific reports and other kinds of term papers and theses, including business correspondences and Feasibility studies. This skill subject focused on the acquisition of procedural knowledge equipped with linguistic and grammatical traits which are vital in the production of effective correspondence. Moreover, this subject also highlights the significance of preparing college students academically and professionally for an interview in the business world.
[Output] A final exam and Demonstration Teaching that shows the culmination of the concepts learned and their critical application is expected toward the end of the semester.  

[Modality] The course is delivered through a combination of strategically designed face-to-face and online (synchronous and asynchronous) sessions.

General Chemistry

Course Description

General Chemistry is a science course subject which deals with the fundamental concepts of chemistry including classification, properties and the changes matter undergoes. This course also extends to atomic theory, chemical formula writing and naming, chemical equations and chemical reactions involved, Molarity, molality and gas laws.

Together with lecture activities, laboratory experiments and exercises will also be given to help develop and later on assess students’ comprehension, critical thinking and most especially problem-solving skills in chemistry.
