This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and issues in Environmental Science, focusing on the interactions between humans and the natural environment. Topics include ecosystems, biodiversity, population, natural resources, pollution, and climate change, with emphasis on sustainable practices and policies. Learners will explore both global and Philippine environmental challenges to develop critical awareness and problem-solving skills for environmental management. Students are expected to complete a research paper on a selected environmental issue, integrating scientific analysis with policy or management perspectives to propose evidence-based solutions. The course is delivered through lectures, online sessions, and applied activities such as case discussions, field observations, and group presentations to encourage experiential learning.
