Purposive Communication is a three-unit course
designed to develop students' communicative competence through multimodal tasks
that enhance cultural and intercultural awareness. This General Education
course equips students with critical evaluation tools for analyzing the
relationships including, but not limited to, language and power, identity, and
gender. Students will produce and disseminate oral, written, audio-visual, and
web-based outputs for various academic and professional purposes. Delivered through
lectures, discussions, group activities, and project-based learning, the course
prepares students to communicate effectively and ethically with multicultural
audiences in local and global contexts.
