COURSE DESCRIPTION

ARCHITECTURAL INTERIORS

This course was devised to provide the students a comprehensive understanding of architectural interiors that converge on design theories and principles with emphasis on anthropometric, proxemic, ergonomics, environmental sustainability, and cultural sensitivities. The course will allow the students to study and investigate the thoughtful integration of furniture, lighting, colors, and finishings to create well-organized and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces. A comprehensive portfolio showcasing a series of interior design projects that will demonstrate the student's proficiency in applying design theories, utilizing anthropometric, proxemic, and ergonomic considerations, and integrating furniture, lighting, colors, and finishing materials bearing in mind to address the UN Sustainability Goals through oral and visual presentations. T o provide flexibility in learning, a blend of synchronous and asynchronous online components and well-organized in-person sessions will be used. With the use of technology, this method seeks to give students a comprehensive education while preserving the advantages of in-person communication.
