| This course will serve as an introduction to the philosophical position of Karl Marx and the current development of Marxism as a theoretical framework. This course will begin with Marx’s engagement and criticism of Hegelian philosophy and will proceed with his concept of alienation, theory of social class, critique of capitalism, and notions of politics and history. This course will find its culmination with a glimpse on Marx’s influence on Orthodox Marxism and Critical Theory. |
