This course will introduce students to the study of the language used in literary texts, particularly in the genres of poetry and fiction. Focus is on frameworks for analysis for interpretation and identifying basic linguistic features that constitute the “literary” nature of texts under study. It will also introduce students to Stylistics as an approach in the study of literary texts.
